Pivilion – Your Personal Darknet Pocket Gallery

A decentralized, uncensored, user-curated web gallery operating system and gallery management software running on nodes hosted by the general public and distributed through clearnet and Tor.

Tech & FLOSS

Pivilion runs on low cost Raspberry Pi hardware and is built on top of Raspbian GNU/Linux. It has a web server and Tor networking built in and uses the Tor network to host exhibitions out of the box.

Why? Main guidelines for our work:

  • building an uncensored network
  • ensuring freedom of artistic intention
  • hosting own data (digital or digitized artwork)
  • security via community filtering
  • de-centralization of content
  • reversing misconceptions forged around Tor & illegality of anonymity

  • propagating cautiousness, cleverness & tech skillfulness
  • empowering individuals in community areas previously unknown to them (darknet)
  • supporting independent guerilla RL community events (like squatting any wifi w/ an expo)

Current digital politics / paradigms

   	(non)proprietary? / (non)populistic? / (non)marketable? /
   	(non)transparent? / (non)exclusive? / (non)restrictive? /
   	(non)cooperative? / (non)critical? / (non)professional? /
    	(non)sustainable?

How
